Skudai and the Technovation Park attached to it hold the cheapest published rate card in Johor. A university innovation centre here lists its rates outright, which almost nothing else in the state does.

The Tebrau corridor and Taman Ekoperniagaan are where Johor's routine corporate training actually happens. A training provider here sits roughly 30 minutes from Senai International Airport and about 20 minutes from Mount Austin.

• By Shuttle Tebrau. The short train link between JB Sentral and Woodlands in Singapore.
• By the Causeway. Woodlands to Johor Bahru city centre, heavily congested at peak, so build real buffer into arrival times.
• By the Second Link. Tuas to Iskandar Puteri, the better crossing for anything on the western side.

What Should You Check Before Booking a Seminar Room in Johor?

Johor has more local rules than anywhere else in the country for an event planner. Settle each of these at enquiry rather than on the day.

• The working week. Sunday to Thursday is the weekday band, so a Friday booking costs weekend money.
• Border buffer. The Causeway and the Second Link both clog at peak, so start later than you would in Kuala Lumpur.
• VEP and Touch 'n Go. Singapore-registered cars need a valid Vehicle Entry Permit and a toll card before they cross.
• The RTS Link timing. Bukit Chagar is expected in December 2026, so don't write it into a plan for this year.
• Overrun rates. Extra hours at RM200 add up fast on a programme that runs late.
• Service tax band. Venue hire sits at 6% from 1 January 2026, while a hotel package may be taxed at 8% instead.
• Deposits. There's no national standard, so read the operator's own cancellation scale.
