What Should You Check Before Booking a Seminar Room in Petaling Jaya?

PJ's traps are about parking, timing and tax rather than the room itself. Settle all five before you sign anything.

• Parking charges. Free parking isn't the PJ norm, so ask for the hourly rate and the validation policy.
• Which tax band applies. Standalone hire is 6%, but a hotel package may be taxed at 8% under the accommodation group.
• The registration threshold. Operators under RM1,000,000 in rental turnover aren't required to register, and some quote with no service tax.
