  • Budget classroom rooms. Plain rooms from RM50 per hour around Ara Damansara, useful for recruitment sittings and exam days.

Guide to Seminar Rooms in Petaling Jaya

Seminar rooms for rent in Petaling Jaya are split across four precincts, and PJ has no single centre to default to. This guide covers each pocket, what it costs and how delegates actually get there.

Petaling Jaya (八打灵再也) is a mature corporate suburb rather than a business district. Multinational regional offices, media houses and banking back-offices sit here, which is why the hourly room supply runs deeper than anywhere else in the Klang Valley.

Where Are the Best Seminar Rooms in Petaling Jaya?

The best seminar rooms in Petaling Jaya group into four pockets, separated by which rail line reaches them and what they're built for. Three sit beside a station and one does not.

  • Kota Damansara and Sunway Nexis. Bridge-linked rooms at Surian station, the shortest station-to-door walk in PJ.
  • Bandar Utama. Tower and hotel space above an MRT and LRT3 interchange, with bridge access into 1 Utama.
  • Damansara Uptown and The Starling. A drive-in precinct with the strongest evening options attached.
  • Section 13 and Jaya One. Campus-style event floors beside Asia Jaya LRT, the cheapest of the four to park at.

For the wider set of PJ space, including rooms too small to call a seminar room, start with our event spaces in Petaling Jaya.

Seminar Rooms in Kota Damansara: A Two-Minute Bridge Walk From Surian Station

Kota Damansara is the easiest PJ pocket to reach without a car, because Surian station on the MRT Kajang Line has a pedestrian bridge at Entrance B leading straight from Sunway Nexis. The stated walk is two minutes.

  • Common venue types in Kota Damansara. Co-working meeting rooms, fitted training rooms in mixed-use towers, hourly boardrooms and small seminar floors.
  • What Kota Damansara is famous for. Sunway Nexis and the shop-office towers strung along Persiaran Surian, with the MRT running through the middle.
  • Why planners pick Kota Damansara. The bridge removes the road crossing entirely, so a rain shower doesn't wreck your 09:00 registration desk.
  • Best events to host in Kota Damansara. Certification courses, product training, agency briefings and assessment days.

Parking sits under the same buildings, so a mixed rail-and-drive cohort works here. Station code is KG07 if you're writing joining instructions.

Seminar Rooms in Bandar Utama: An Interchange Address With No Ground-Level Entrance

Bandar Utama is the best-connected address in Petaling Jaya, now that the station is an interchange between the MRT Kajang Line and the LRT3 Shah Alam Line. Its Entrance B is a bridge into One World Hotel, 1 Utama, KPMG Tower and 1 First Avenue, and there's no ground-level station access at all.

  • Common venue types in Bandar Utama. Co-working event halls in the office towers, hotel function floors, and boardrooms with hybrid kit already installed.
  • What Bandar Utama is famous for. 1 Utama, One World Hotel and the KPMG Tower cluster, all reachable without stepping outside.
  • Why planners pick Bandar Utama. A stated five-minute walk from the platform to the room, and delegates from Klang can now arrive by rail.
  • Best events to host in Bandar Utama. Year-end town halls, dealer conferences, multi-day training and hybrid AGMs.

Be honest with delegates about the interchange: LRT3 uses printed QR paper tickets on its own system, so it isn't one fare through. Formats for the larger sessions here sit in our corporate seminar venues in Malaysia.

Seminar Rooms in Damansara Uptown: A Drive-In Precinct With Its Own Restaurant Strip

Damansara Uptown has no station of its own, which is the single thing to plan around. Delegates drive, take a Grab, or come in from Bandar Utama or Phileo Damansara, and in exchange they get a restaurant strip immediately outside the room.

  • Common venue types in Damansara Uptown. Office-tower training rooms, mall-attached event space at The Starling, co-working halls and boutique meeting rooms.
  • What Damansara Uptown is famous for. The Starling, the Uptown restaurant strip, and a late-night food scene that outlasts most PJ precincts.
  • Why planners pick Damansara Uptown. The evening plan needs no transport, so a seminar can roll into dinner without moving anyone.
  • Best events to host in Damansara Uptown. After-work seminars, networking sessions, client briefings and workshops that finish over a meal.

Budget for parking and arrival time rather than for a walk from a platform. Offsite formats that suit this pocket are covered in our offsite meeting venues in Malaysia.

Seminar Rooms in Section 13: Free Station Parking Beside the Jaya One Campus

Section 13 is the pocket for a cohort that drives, because Asia Jaya station on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line has free parking. Jaya One and Jaya 33 sit close by with their own multi-level carparks.

  • Common venue types in Section 13. Campus-style event floors at Jaya One, office-tower training rooms, co-working boardrooms and hotel meeting suites towards PJ New Town.
  • What Section 13 is famous for. The Jaya One restaurant and studio row, Jaya 33, and Menara Axis standing opposite the Asia Jaya station entrance.
  • Why planners pick Section 13. Free station parking plus Federal Highway access makes it the cheapest of the four precincts to gather a driving group.
  • Best events to host in Section 13. Hands-on workshops, staff training, recruitment days and association meetings.

Station code KJ21 covers both Section 13 and the PJ New Town side. Hands-on rooms with benches or open floor are listed under our workshop venues in Malaysia.

How Do You Get to a Petaling Jaya Seminar Room?

PJ is reached by two rail lines plus the new LRT3, and by three highways that all queue at the same times. Stations open at 06:00.

  • MRT Kajang Line. Surian (KG07), Bandar Utama (KG09) and Phileo Damansara (KG12) cover the northern precincts.
  • LRT Kelana Jaya Line. Asia Jaya (KJ21) serves Section 13, Jaya One and PJ New Town.
  • LRT3 Shah Alam Line. Interchange at Bandar Utama, running since 29 June 2026 with 20 of 25 stations open.

  • Bridges over the highways. Phileo Damansara Entrance A crosses the Sprint by footbridge, and Surian Entrance B crosses into Sunway Nexis.

  • On a monthly pass. My50 gives Malaysians 30 days of unlimited rail and bus for RM50.

What Should You Check Before Booking a Seminar Room in Petaling Jaya?

PJ's traps are about parking, timing and tax rather than the room itself. Settle all five before you sign anything.

  • Parking charges. Free parking isn't the PJ norm, so ask for the hourly rate and the validation policy.
  • Which tax band applies. Standalone hire is 6%, but a hotel package may be taxed at 8% under the accommodation group.
  • The registration threshold. Operators under RM1,000,000 in rental turnover aren't required to register, and some quote with no service tax.
  • Service charge. The 10% line is operator-set rather than statutory, and plenty of independent PJ rooms add none.
  • Start time. A 09:30 start beats an 09:00 one, because the highways are still full at 09:00.
  • The Uptown question. If you book Damansara Uptown, tell delegates there's no station and arrange the drop-off point.
  • Cancellation terms. No national standard exists, so read the operator's own scale line by line.

Where Can Delegates Go After a Seminar in Petaling Jaya?

Every precinct has somewhere to take a group without arranging transport. Pick the room partly on where you want the evening to end.

  • Bandar Utama. 1 Utama for a group meal, with The Curve and IPC a few minutes further on.
  • Damansara Uptown. The Starling plus the Uptown restaurant strip, which runs late.
  • Section 13. Jaya One's restaurant row, with Jaya 33 and Amcorp Mall nearby.
  • Kota Damansara. Sunway Giza for a quick dinner beside the station.
  • SS2. The hawker belt, still the cheapest way to feed a large group in PJ.

Venuerific has handled bookings across five markets since 2013, and our Klang Valley inventory is the deepest part of it. Recent reviews are worth more than old ones when you're judging a room.
