Had an al fresco lunch at Duomo Ristorante on a beautiful day and it genuinely felt like a little slice of Italy in Singapore. Sitting outdoors right next to the church really added to the atmosphere. We ordered the burratina, calamari alla griglia , braised beef cheek, spaghetti and both desserts. The calamari spaghetti and beef cheek were definite standouts — the pasta was flavourful and saucy, while the beef cheek was beautifully braised and comforting. Both dishes felt hearty without being heavy. Desserts were a nice way to end the meal, and the overall experience was relaxed and enjoyable — perfect for a slow, al fresco lunch when the weather is good.

Tucked into the Chijmes colonnade, Duomo Ristorante announces itself before you even reach the door — a glass-fronted wine wall stacked with Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Tignanello and Gaja crates, more wine shop than restaurant entrance. It sets the tone for what’s inside: this is a serious Italian dining room dressed up as a casual one. Duomo does have a pretty terrace out front — rattan bistro chairs, lemon garlands strung overhead, a wraparound bar lit up with an Aperol Spritz marquee sign, all facing the white Gothic façade of the old Chijmes chapel. But it was too hot for that, so I ate indoors instead, in the equally handsome dining room — teal banquettes, Sicilian-tile wall panels, warm cove lighting. A good call on a humid day, and a reminder that this isn’t just an outdoor-terrace spot; the indoor room holds its own. Bread service arrived promptly — a warm, crusty loaf with good olive oil, a solid start. We opened with the Calamari Fritti — light, crisp batter, not greasy, paired with a smoky paprika-spiked aioli and lemon. Clean fry job, and the portion was generous enough to share properly. For pastas, we went with the Crab Linguine (Linguine al Granchio) — Atlantic crab in a pomodoro-mascarpone sauce with chilli. Rich and a little sweet from the mascarpone, with the chilli doing just enough to cut through it rather than fighting it. The Orecchiette Funghi e Salsiccia was the earthier counterpoint — Apulian orecchiette in a wild mushroom ragout with pork sausage, finished with parmesan and chives. Good depth of mushroom flavour, though I’d have liked the sausage to come through a bit more distinctly. The à la carte runs the full Italian gamut — sharing platters, antipasti, a solid pizza list (the Bella Duomo with mortadella, pistachio and burratina caught my eye for a future visit), and a steak/pizza program that goes right up to a Bistecca alla Fiorentina for the table. There’s also a well-priced set lunch (2 courses at $28++, 3 at $38++) if you’re after something quicker. Rating: ★★★★★ Buon appetito, e alla prossima.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Duomo Ristorante. The food was beautifully presented, and every dish was prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about our dining experience. They offer lunch set which is worth to take a look

Tried the Sunday Set Menu (S$42++ for 3 courses) and it was such a great deal! The Australian sirloin was actually my favourite. I’m a big steak lover, and this one really impressed me. It was cooked perfectly, tender with a lovely charred aroma and full of beefy flavour. Definitely a highlight of the meal. The Tagliolini Gamberi was another favourite. The grilled langoustine was fragrant, paired with a rich buttery lemon sauce that was indulgent without being too heavy. Butter lovers shouldn’t miss this! The Tiramisu was also a pleasant surprise, light, creamy and not overly sweet. Located in CHIJMES, the restaurant has a beautiful Italian-inspired interior. If you can, get a window seat overlooking the courtyard, it’s such a relaxing spot. Service was warm and attentive throughout. The Italian owner was friendly, and the team was thoughtful with refilling water and changing plates. Would definitely come back! Great food, lovely atmosphere and amazing value for money.

All the dishes were pretty good. If only there is an option for 4.5 stars :) there was a truffle pizza that we were so fast to eat that we forgor to take the pic. But I guess u can tell from that that we liked it a lot just from the smell. 29 Aug: second visit and I am happy to now upgrade them to full 5 stars. Sauteed mussels and clams and calamari were wonderful as was the truffle pasta. Parma ham pizza had plenty of ham on top and my dining companions totally loved the grilles asparagus!
