Twelve training venues in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor compared on capacity, nearest station and rates, with the HRD Corp rules that shape the booking.

TLDR

  • Training venues for HRD Corp programmes in KL and Selangor are external rooms that employers book to run an HRD Corp programme.
  • Venue rental can be claimable, so ask your training provider whether it's claimed separately or covered by the allowances.
  • Twelve rooms follow, eight in Kuala Lumpur and four in Selangor, each with capacities, stations and rates.
  • From 15 June 2026, in-house training can run only 14 days after grant approval, so submit three to four weeks ahead.
  • HRD Corp can revise the matrix, so confirm the current edition and your scheme before you book.

Training venues for HRD Corp programmes in KL and Selangor range from 12-seat meeting rooms to 350-seat ballrooms. The right room depends on the cohort size, where trainees travel from and the paperwork the claim needs.

The booking raises one question: what does HRD Corp cover? HRD Corp's claimable courses page lists a training rental place among claimable costs, but the matrix has no venue rental line of its own. The booking affects a claim through location, travel distance and paperwork.

This guide covers private venues you can book on Venuerific. HRDF is the older name for HRD Corp, so the same rooms suit HRDF programmes in Kuala Lumpur. Planners working outside these two states compare training venues in Malaysia state by state.

What Does HRD Corp Cover When You Book an External Training Venue?

The Allowable Cost Matrix has no line of its own for venue or room rental, but HRD Corp's claimable courses page lists a training rental place among claimable costs, and some providers include the venue in the course fee. Ask your provider which applies before you pay a deposit. The booking also shapes the claim through where training happens, how far trainees travel and what paperwork you hold.

The January 2026 version of the matrix caps a full-day in-house course fee at RM10,500 per group. We've used that version for every figure below. HRD Corp can revise the matrix, so confirm the current edition and your scheme before booking.

ItemWhat the matrix listsCondition
Venue or room rentalNo line of its own in the matrix. HRD Corp's claimable courses page lists a training rental place among claimable costsAsk the provider whether it is claimed separately, covered by the allowances or included in the course fee
Course fee, in-house general courseUp to RM10,500 per day per group (full day) and RM6,000 per half day per groupFull day is at least 7 training hours. Half day is 4 training hours. There's no matrix rate for a 5- or 6-hour day, so ask the provider how one is claimed. Prorated for fewer than 5 participants
Trainee allowanceUp to RM250 per pax per day under 100km (one way), and up to RM500 per pax per day 100km or more (one way), including accommodationAt least 4 hours a day. The matrix halves the amount for programmes shorter than a full day. No trainee allowance for trainees based at the organising employer's premises
Meal allowanceUp to RM100 per pax per day (full day) and RM50 per pax per day (half day)At least 4 hours a day. Employers claim the meal allowance or the trainee allowance per trainee, not both
Chartered transportCovered for in-house programmes held outside the employer's premises, including hotels and external training venuesQuotation and receipt from the transport provider
AttendanceAt least 75% of total training hoursAllowances are prorated by attendance

Ask these three questions before you pay a deposit.

  • Where does the training happen? Employer premises and external premises sit in different parts of the matrix.
  • How far do trainees travel? The matrix sets one allowance band under 100km and another at 100km or more, measured one way.
  • What can the venue supply? Think of an itemised invoice, a classroom layout, AV and space for sign-in sheets.

HRD Corp trainee allowance and meal allowance in plain terms

The matrix pays a trainee allowance by distance. Trainees who travel under 100km (one way) have a cap of RM250 a day, and trainees who travel 100km or more have a cap of RM500 a day, including accommodation, or the actual rate paid, whichever is lower. The matrix halves the trainee allowance for programmes shorter than a full day.

The meal allowance is the alternative, not an extra. Employers claim one of the two per trainee per day, and trainees trained at their own employer's premises get no trainee allowance, so the meal allowance applies there. The rest of the rules apply to both:

  • Both need at least 4 hours of training a day.
  • The meal allowance is up to RM100 a day for a full day and RM50 for a half day.
  • Trainees need at least 75% attendance, and allowances are prorated by attendance.

Best Training Venues for HRD Corp Programmes in Kuala Lumpur

Eight Kuala Lumpur event spaces follow, from a 14-person meeting room to a ballroom with 350 seats. Each ends with a Venue Tip on set-up, timing or movement.

Event and Training Hub near Mid Valley - Tiered Lectorium and 40-Seat Classroom

Tiered rows of white seats curve around a stage facing a dark screen in the Lectorium under a striped ceiling

Most full-day programmes open with a briefing for everyone, then split into practice groups. The Lectorium at Event and Training Hub near Mid Valley has a capacity of up to 150 in tiered rows. The Classroom has a capacity of up to 40 for the hands-on half. Trainees who arrive by train reach the room on foot, a 5- to 10-minute walk from Abdullah Hukum LRT. Starting rates are RM250 for the Classroom and RM1,000 for the Lectorium.

Venue Tip: Book the Lectorium for the briefing and first demonstration. Then move groups of up to 40 into the Classroom. Put the sign-in sheet at the door of the room that opens the day. Ask the host how long the move takes and what the opening hours are.

Dynamic Event Spaces @ KL Eco City - Classroom for 48 by Abdullah Hukum LRT

Long white tables with black chairs set classroom style in a bright training room with a projector overhead at Dynamic Event Spaces

Trainers running a cohort of up to 48 people want desks, not a ballroom. Classroom layouts at Dynamic Event Spaces @ KL Eco City seat 48 and cluster layouts seat 35. The floor area is 1,500 sq ft. Abdullah Hukum LRT is the nearest station, about a 3- to 5-minute walk. Rates start from approximately RM700 an hour. Half-day and full-day packages exist. External catering isn't allowed.

Venue Tip: Choose the cluster layout for groups that work through case studies, and keep classroom rows for lecture-heavy days. Ask the host to set the room the evening before. The sign-in table and registration packs are then ready when trainees arrive. A full day needs at least seven training hours. Confirm the closing time and the package prices when you enquire.

M Space KL Sentral - Training Room Next to KL Sentral

A long white table with red, yellow and white chairs beside wood panelled walls in a bright training room

Trainees travelling from outside the Klang Valley can arrive by train, and KL Sentral is the rail hub. Menara Allianz Sentral in Brickfields, home to M Space KL Sentral, is adjacent to it. The Training Room has a capacity of 1 to 50 across 699 sq ft.

The rate is RM430 per hour. All rooms are equipped with ergonomic chairs, smart TVs or projectors, whiteboards, high-speed Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee and tea. External catering isn't allowed. Air-conditioning hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an after-hours charge of RM160 per hour that also covers weekends.

Venue Tip: Budget the RM160 after-hours charge if the programme runs past 6:00 PM or onto a weekend. Ask the host how the room is set by default, since layout capacities aren't published. Place the sign-in sheet at the door and ask about parking rates.

MDMT Ballroom - 350 Seats and a 32ft LED Screen

Black chairs in theatre rows face a projector screen between gold curtains in the Imperial Ballroom at MDMT Ballroom

Large cohorts need rows and a big screen more than they need desks. A theatre set-up works well with the 32ft x 13ft main LED screen at MDMT Ballroom. Capacity is 350 seated / 500 standing. The Imperial Ballroom has a capacity of 1 to 50 and the Grand Ballroom has a capacity of 1 to 500. LRT Jelatek is the nearest station.

Rates start from RM3,500 per half-day at venue level, and the Imperial Ballroom starts from RM2,100. External catering isn't allowed, and in-house catering is quoted separately.

Venue Tip: Use theatre rows for briefings and keep hands-on exercises for a smaller room. Ask the host for the classroom capacity, the rehearsal time, the LED screen's input options and the tech support hours. Plan trainee arrival around the more than 1,000 parking bays at Datum Jelatek. Confirm the exact entrance too, because the building is described two ways.

Chic & Modern Event Space - Three Event Rooms in Chinatown

Black chairs around joined tables in a dim room with a glowing wall panel and city windows at Chic & Modern Event Space

Trainees can reach Chic & Modern Event Space on Jalan Petaling in Chinatown by train. Pasar Seni LRT and MRT stations are nearby. The Zen Bamboo Garden on the 3rd floor has a capacity of 1 to 150. The Private/Combined Room and Lounge has a capacity of 1 to 80, and the Penthouse Sky lounge has a capacity of 1 to 100. Capacity is 150 seated / 150 standing.

Half-day hire starts from RM2,000, and individual rooms start from RM800. External catering is allowed, subject to terms, and parking is available.

Venue Tip: Ask the host to confirm Wi-Fi, a whiteboard and a screen before you book. None appears in the amenities. Allow extra time on the first morning for trainees to find the entrance from the station. Keep the programme schedule and sign-in sheet on a table by the door, so late arrivals sign in quickly.

The Timber Space - Per-Pax Workshop Packages for 40 to 72

Rows of wooden chairs face the front of a long room beside a window wall lined with green plants at The Timber Space

Workshop days for 40 or more people need desks and wall space more than a central address. Classroom layouts at The Timber Space in Desa Sri Hartamas seat up to 48. The Lata Boardroom has a capacity of 8 to 12 for a facilitator briefing. Groups of 49 to 72 fit the workshop package, but not the classroom layout.

Opening hours are 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The Corporate Workshop & Seminar package is RM120 per pax for 40 to 72 pax, and the Full Day Business Meeting Package is RM100 per pax for 8 to 12 pax. External catering is allowed, and no MRT or LRT station is within walking distance.

Venue Tip: Work out how trainees arrive, since no station is within walking distance. Ask for the minimum spend and the package inclusions in writing before you commit. Opening hours of 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM leave time for an early registration and a late finish. Set the sign-in time with the host, and check the cancellation terms before you pay a deposit.

WeWork Equatorial Plaza - Enclosed Rooms for Up to 24 in the Golden Triangle

Rows of long wooden desks and chairs facing a whiteboard and a wall screen in a carpeted training room

Cohorts of up to 24 who need an enclosed room, not a hall, can train in the middle of the Golden Triangle. WeWork Equatorial Plaza is on Jalan Sultan Ismail, with seven meeting rooms for 10 to 24 people and a common area on level 18 for up to 70. Bukit Bintang MRT, KLCC LRT and Raja Chulan Monorail stations are all within walking distance.

Rooms for 10 or 12 start from RM259.20, and the 24-person rooms (19E, or 18B and 18C combined) start from RM544.32. The common area starts from RM1,088.64, and venue-level bookings start from RM240 minimum spend. External catering comes from a selected panel of caterers. Built-in screens, microphones, a sound system and high-speed Wi-Fi are available, and there are over 1,400 parking bays in the building.

Venue Tip: Book 18B and 18C together for a briefing of 24, and ask the host whether the two rooms can run as separate breakout rooms afterwards. Ask which caterers are on the panel before you plan lunch. Cancellations within 30 days of the event are non-refundable, so confirm the date after HRD Corp approves the grant. Budget the RM160 after-hours charge if the programme runs past 6:00 PM or onto a weekend. Ask the host how the room is set by default, since layout capacities aren't published. Place the sign-in sheet at the door and ask about parking rates.

WeWork Mercu 2 - Meeting Rooms for 4 to 14 in KL Eco City

A long wooden table with black chairs facing a wall screen, with a glass writing board along the side wall

Small programmes can stay a short walk from Abdullah Hukum, where the LRT and KTM lines meet. WeWork Mercu 2 is in the Mercu 2 tower on Jalan Bangsar in KL Eco City, with six meeting rooms for 4 to 14 people and a common area for up to 60. Room 40D, for up to 14, is the largest enclosed room.

Meeting rooms start from RM89.04, room 40D starts from RM267.12 and the common area starts from RM1,587.88. Venue-level bookings start from RM240 minimum spend. External catering isn't allowed. Built-in screens, presentation facilities and high-speed Wi-Fi are available, with microphones and a sound system depending on the room. Parking is in the building and around KL Eco City.

Venue Tip: Book 40D for a cohort of up to 14, and keep the common area for networking or a larger briefing. Ask the host whether the common area can be closed off for a full training day, and which rooms come with a microphone. Sort lunch with the host early, since external catering isn't allowed. Budget the RM160 after-hours charge if the programme runs past 6:00 PM or onto a weekend. Ask the host how the room is set by default, since layout capacities aren't published. Place the sign-in sheet at the door and ask about parking rates.

Best Training Venues for HRD Corp Programmes in Selangor

Four event spaces in Selangor follow, three in Petaling Jaya and one by Subang Jaya LRT, from a 150-person classroom hall to 12-seat meeting rooms. Each entry ties one room to a planning decision. Each ends with a Venue Tip.

Corporate Meetings by Envivo - 150-Seat Classroom Hall With Full-Day Packages

Rows of black padded chairs in theatre layout face a long speaker table in a large hall at Corporate Meetings by Envivo

Large cohorts need a room that holds desks, not just chairs. Hall 1 at Corporate Meetings by Envivo in Crystal Plaza seats 150 classroom style, or 300 in theatre layout. Hall 2 seats 80 classroom style, or 150 in theatre layout. Asia Jaya LRT is the nearest station, and on-site parking is available.

The Hall 1 package is RM25 per pax for a full day at 150 pax, which works out at RM3,750 per day for 8 hours. The Hall 2 package is a RM2,000 minimum spend for a full day at 80 pax. Packages include the meeting hall, registration counter, projectors and monitors synced to a laptop. They also include individual microphones for directors, 2 wireless mics and free Wi-Fi.

Venue Tip: Use the registration counter for sign-in, since it's already part of the package. Ask the host to set the Hall 1 desks in straight rows. Every trainee then faces the front, and the trainer can walk each aisle. Confirm which catering terms apply before you plan lunch, because the stated terms differ.

Mutiara Event Space - Two 35-Seat Rooms or One Room for 70

Rows of white desks with black chairs face two wall-mounted TVs and a whiteboard in a conference room at Mutiara Event Space

Trainers can run two rooms of 35 side by side, or combine them into one room of 70 when the programme needs it. DC Conference 1 and DC Conference 2 at Mutiara Event Space are training rooms. Mutiara Damansara MRT is the nearest station.

Equipment includes a projector, microphone, Wi-Fi, TV screen, sound system and coffee. Room rates start from RM200 each and RM350 combined. Venue-level hire starts from RM1,500 minimum spend as the standard offer. External catering is allowed. Planners with their own catering or set-up ideas can raise them with the host when they enquire.

Venue Tip: Run two parallel groups in the two rooms in the morning. Combine them for a plenary debrief after lunch. Ask the host how long the room change takes, before you book. Check that a whiteboard and tea are available, as well.

Dynamic Event Spaces @ Bandar Utama - Open Floor for 100 in the KPMG Tower

Long white tables with black mesh chairs set classroom style in a bright room with orange accent panels and tall windows at Dynamic Event Spaces @ Bandar Utama

Planners can run a lecture and a group exercise on one open floor, instead of moving a cohort between two small rooms. Dynamic Event Spaces @ Bandar Utama is in the KPMG Tower on First Avenue, with one space for up to 100 seated and 100 standing.

Bandar Utama MRT is the nearest station. Rates start from RM700 per hour, and external catering is allowed. A projector, whiteboard, TV screen, microphone, sound system and Wi-Fi are available.

Venue Tip: Ask the host to set the tables in rows for lectures and in groups for exercises. Confirm the classroom capacity in writing before you pay a deposit, since only the seated total is given. Allow extra time on the first morning for trainees to find the tower from the MRT station. Put the sign-in sheet at the entrance, and ask about parking and cancellation terms.

Dynamic Event Spaces @ Subang - Event Hall and Breakout Rooms by Subang Jaya LRT

Black training tables with orange and black chairs facing a projector screen and whiteboard in the event hall at Dynamic Event Spaces @ Subang

Trainees based around Subang Jaya and Shah Alam can stay on the LRT line instead of travelling into Kuala Lumpur. Dynamic Event Spaces @ Subang is at The Podium, Tower 3, UOA Business Park 1 in Shah Alam, a 5-minute walk from Subang Jaya LRT Station. The Event Hall Nazarin Hassan has a capacity of 40 to 100, and corporate meetings, team sessions and workshops are among the event types here.

The event hall starts from RM250 minimum spend, and the Meeting Room Small, Meeting Room Medium and Meeting Room Large (4 to 12 people) start from RM40, RM50 and RM90. A projector, screen, sound system and high-speed Wi-Fi are available, and external catering isn't allowed.

Venue Tip: Run the plenary in the event hall and book a meeting room for breakout groups, so the cohort stays on one floor. Get each room rate in writing before you pay a deposit. Sort lunch early, since external catering isn't allowed.

Which Room Setup Suits an HRD Corp Programme?

Match the layout to the session length and the group work. A full day needs at least seven training hours, so rows or clusters beat theatre rows. A half day of four hours can run theatre style with short exercises.

  • Classroom rows: desks for note-taking and lecture-heavy days, with every trainee facing the front.
  • Cluster tables: groups of four to six for case studies, role-plays and group tasks.
  • Theatre rows: chairs only, for briefings, demonstrations and half-day sessions.

Breakout needs change the answer. A cohort that splits into two groups needs a second room or a divisible hall. Half-day sessions for small groups usually book a training room in Kuala Lumpur.

What Changed in 2026 for HRD Corp Training Dates?

From 15 June 2026, in-house training can run only 14 days after the grant is approved, not 14 days after you apply. HRD Corp's claimable courses page also says the programme must start within 90 calendar days after that 14-day period, and claims must go in within six months of the programme ending.

Providers' summaries of Employer's Circular 2/2026 add that only confirmed dates are accepted and an approved grant can't be modified. A changed date means cancelling and resubmitting, so the venue date has to hold.

For the venue, get the date confirmed in writing before you submit, and check the host's date-change and cancellation terms. Avoid paying a non-refundable deposit before approval. Submit three to four weeks ahead so a query from HRD Corp doesn't push approval past the 14-day mark.

What Paperwork Should You Ask a Training Venue For When You Run an HRD Corp Programme?

Ask the venue for an itemised invoice, a signed schedule, daily sign-in space and a dated booking confirmation. HRD Corp reviews the claim, so these are questions to put to the host, not guarantees a venue can give.

  • Itemised invoice: room hire, meals and other lines listed separately.
  • Signed programme schedule: start and end times that show the minimum hours.
  • Sign-in sheets: space and a table for daily sign-in, since the matrix needs at least 75% attendance.
  • Booking confirmation date: a written date you can quote in the application.
