French cooking is often viewed as a highbrow culinary art. But Chef Phyllis over-delivered, by giving us such a gentle yet effective introduction to the world of French cooking (with twists relevant to the modern world) through a three-course meal. We were initially stunned when we realised this was a "more intensive than usual" class, but it made for more value-for-money since the three-course meal weaved in great nuggets of culinary tips, such as making a simple yet delectable beurre blanc with a curry twist to accompany the salmon en croute we made (for the layperson's reading, think of something quite similar to Gordon Ramsay's beef wellington). Chef Phyllis added a few twists to the classic dishes we cooked, bringing a refreshing air of modernity compatible with modern capabilities and tastes. The class was also punctuated with light dashes of humour when we juggled multiple tasks, making for a vibrant yet casual enough class that anyone who has seen the kitchen (and maybe did some basic cooking) can enjoy. Proof of works as per the photos! I hope the photos do justice to the enjoyment we had! :-)

We had a lovely session with Phyllis. She was very patient and detailed in her explanations. She made the session so enjoyable and we learnt valuable tips on making our tarts and pie. She is so passionate about her craft and is so encouraging.
