Yu Lei offers traditional Shanghainese cuisine creatively prepared by Chef Miki Imagawa, who is
renowned for presenting the authentic tastes of traditional Shanghainese dishes as works of visual art.
Chef Miki also pays close attention to every ingredient, seasoning and garnishing to create perfectly
balanced dishes. His specialties include Kyushu chilled crab in Chinese wine and stir-fried sliced
Apart from the superb Shanghainese dishes prepared by Chef Miki, Yu Lei also serves sumptuous
Cantonese dim sum and barbecued meat as part of the lunch menu.
The décor theme of Yu Lei is “Chinese flowers”. There are five VIP dining rooms, each designed
around a particular flower with a specially designed chandelier and murals. The dining hall offers a
stunning panoramic view of Victoria Harbour.
As for awards, the restaurant received a One-Star rating in the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2013
